COMPANY AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:
Brandywine Ballet Trainee
Students who wish to audition for the Trainee Program must be 11 years old by September 1, 2024 and have completed at least one full year on pointe. Dancers may be accepted into the two-year Trainee program. If accepted, dancers sign yearly agreements with the Company.
Brandywine Ballet Company & Theatre
Brandywine Ballet Company & Theatre auditions are open to dancers ages 14+ who qualify technically for the program. Dancers may be accepted into either the Brandywine Ballet Company (the student branch of the organization) or Brandywine Ballet Theatre (the pre-professional and professional branch of the organization). After audition and acceptance, dancers sign yearly agreements with the Company or Theatre.
Brandywine Contemporary
Brandywine Contemporary auditions are open to dancers ages 11+ who qualify technically and are interested in exploring modern and contemporary dance. Dancers must be 11 years old by September 1, 2024. After audition and acceptance, dancers sign yearly agreements with Brandywine Contemporary.
GENERAL AUDITION INFORMATION:
All students must be ready to dance promptly at the start time. The studio will be open one hour prior to each audition for dancers to get thoroughly warmed up prior to the audition class.
DRESS CODE FOR BALLET AUDITION: Solid black leotard, pink tights for ballet. Footwear - Ballet Slippers , plus Ladies bring pointe shoes. Short, ballet skirts may be worn. No warmers of any kind. Hair in ballet bun.
DRESS CODE FOR CONTEMPORARY AUDITION: Solid black shorts or leggings. Solid color tight fitting shirt or leotard. Footwear either lyrical shoes or bare feet. No warmers of any kind. Hair in pony tail.
