Nancy Page's CARMINA BURANA
Carmina Burana, or “Songs from Beuern” is the name given to a manuscript of poems written by Goliards. Twenty-four of the poems were set to the music of Carl Orff in 1936. Orff’s composition quickly became popular and a staple piece of the classical music repertoire. Orff opens with the stunning and famous O Fortuna; its text is a medieval, resigned acceptance of the Wheel of Fortune as the determiner of one’s own fate. It is followed by three sections: In Springtime - man’s encounter with nature and how the seasons bring on love, In the Tavern - the rowdy atmosphere breaks out with drinking songs and hymns to debauchery, and Court of Love - describes the passions of men and women. Orff concludes Carmina Burana with O Fortuna; the wheel comes full circle - the cycle complete. All of man’s petty feelings and endeavors are in the fickle hands of fate – Performed by Brandywine Ballet Theatre and Company.

Gabriele Concertante is a neoclassical ballet dedicated to Norman Gabriele, longtime friend and colleague of choreographer David Kloss – Performed by Principal dancers of Brandywine Ballet Theatre.
THE DESCENT - Phantom of the Opera Teaser
Beneath the grandeur of the Opera House lies a world of shadows, secrets, and enchantment. Drawn by a mysterious voice, Christine Daae encounters the Phantom for the first time. Entranced and uncertain, she is drawn away from the world she knows and into the hidden depths beneath the Opera House. There, the spirits of the Opera House awaken, ethereal figures summoned and commanded by the Phantom. In a haunting procession, they carry Christine across the underground waters, guiding her ever deeper into his mysterious realm.
As the familiar world above disappears into darkness, the Phantom reveals the power of his hidden kingdom through “The Music of the Night.” Their encounter unfolds an intimate dance of seduction, mystery, fear, and fascination, as the Phantom draws Christine into a world where music and movement become one. The journey has begun. And beneath the Opera House, the night is only beginning to sing – Performed by Brandywine Ballet Theatre and Company.
MOSAIQUE
Brandywine Contemporary Theatre and Company, under the direction of Donna Muzio and Tim Early, perform a collection of contemporary dances set to the music of the Gipsy Kings.
