GENERAL COSTUMING FUND
Every performance of every show requires costumes. As the company grows, more costumes are needed. All of our full-length ballets - The Nutcracker, Beauty & the Beast, Dracula, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz – need extra costumes in varied sizes each season, so that every dancer can participate. Each of these shows requires at least 200 costumes. Additionally, our Contemporary Company is in need of new costumes for every new production they perform. Each costume has a cost of approximately $250 per dancer per show.

GENERAL SET DESIGN FUND
From the simplest of repertoire pieces to the most elaborate of full-length ballets, every performance involves sets. The set of a show is the physical, constructed, or arranged environment on stage that represents the location and atmosphere where the action occurs. It includes scenery, furniture, backdrops, and structures to establish time, place, and mood for the audience. Picture the Castle in Dracula and Beauty & the Beast, the Land of Sweets in The Nutcracker, the Wheel in Carmina Burana, the Bed in Sleeping Beauty, or the House in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. These things create the dancers’ environment and bring us into the story

PHANTOM FUND
Brandywine Ballet is excited to announce that they have plans to bring Phantom of the Opera to our fall rotation. This huge undertaking will be our first new full-length ballet since 2019. To develop and create a new large-scale production such as this, multiple services and items will be needed: costumes and costumers, sets and set designers, props, music acqusition and editing, lighting design, and more.
